After this presentation learners will be able to apply concepts of early recognition, intervention, and collaborative management in pediatric mental health conditions using a case study. 

  • Review the epidemiology, impact, and management of mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations;
  • Discuss the assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based care recommendations for mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations; 
  • Identify interventions (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) in the treatment of mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations; 
  • Consider barriers to the access of mental health care for the child and adolescent population.
