Pediatric Mental Health Conditions in Primary Care: Early Recognition and Collaborative Management

After this presentation learners will be able to apply concepts of early recognition, intervention, and collaborative management in pediatric mental health conditions using a case study. 

  • Review the epidemiology, impact, and management of mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations;
  • Discuss the assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based care recommendations for mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations; 
  • Identify interventions (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) in the treatment of mental health conditions in children and adolescent populations; 
  • Consider barriers to the access of mental health care for the child and adolescent population.   

This activity is approved for 2.5 contact hour(s) of continuing education (which includes 1.0 hour(s) of pharmacology) by Frontier Nursing University. Activity #2511-003. This activity was planned in accordance with ANCC Commission on Accreditation Standards and Policies.
