FREE CE: Psychopharmacology in Primary Care

  • Explain keys of successful psychopharmacology
  • Identify the essential psychopharmacology of antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, antipsychotics, stimulants and more.
  • Discuss evidence-based psychopharmacology treatments for depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, insomnia, and psychosis.
  • Recognize the key symptoms and treatments of ADHD

Dr. Heather A. Shlosser, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Heather Shlosser is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Frontier Nursing University. Dr. Shlosser has authored several book chapters with a psychiatric focus as well as alternative care models in primary care. She is board certified as both a family nurse practitioner and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Her clinical focus is integrated behavioral medicine within primary care and specialty medicine serving patients across the lifespan. Dr. Shlosser has special interests in telepsychiatry, addictions medicine, motivational interviewing and mindfulness therapy. Her clinical experience includes full-scope primary care and outpatient psychiatric care. Dr. Shlosser earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from the Elms College in Massachusetts, a Master of Science degree from Frontier Nursing University, a Post Master’s of Science from the University of Virginia, a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Virginia and is currently working on a Post Graduate Certification in Higher Education Leadership. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and their two children.
